By the shape of the USA, the New England States fill most of one side of the map, but New York City and Philadelphia are included as well as a goodly portion of New York State. The second side covers the rest of the state, plus all of New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and most of Ohio, West Virginia and the northern portion of Virginia. In terms of cities, Cincinnati is at the bottom left of the sheet and Richmond at the bottom right, with Detroit at upper left and Albany at upper right. The one side covers most of the state and the southern portion of the New England states, along with an inset map of the greater NYC area, the other side covers from Boston and Cape cod to the northern extremes of Maine and west into Vermont, with inset maps of Boston and Boston Region.     Europe is dotted with mini-states that exist solely for historic reasons but are fiercely independent. Liechtenstein, surrounded by Switzerland on its west and south and Austria on its other borders, is such a state. It is larger and more diverse than many imagine and is quite a popular ski resort region. Side 1 is a detailed map of the principality, framed on the west by the Rhine River and a bit of Switzerland and on the east by Austria. Most development occurs in the Rhine Valley in a north-south direction, dominated by the capital city of Vaduz. There are five access points from Switzerland across the Rhine, one from the south, and two from Austria in the north. The ski haven of Malbun is prominently shown, and the scale of the map is detailed enough to name every major street. This also enabled us the opportunity to include schools, shopping areas, post offices, and churches, as well as a wide range of eating establishments. Walking/hiking trails have also been included.     This is a brand new title from ITMB. Portland is the largest city in the American state of Oregon. It is not the capital; that distinction belongs to Salem, about 50 miles to the south, but Portland is an actual sea-going port, although it is a hundred miles away from the ocean. It is situated on the majestic Columbia River, which at one time formed the border between British-controlled Canada and the emerging United States. That changed after 1842, with the Oregon Treaty, under which both governments agreed to "share" the territory. At that time, the British capital was Astoria, a lovely town at the mouth of the Columbia, but the Governor, realizing that sharing with the Americans meant capitulation to the Americans, moved the capital north to Victoria, on what was then designated a separate colony. The first side concentrates on the northern portion of the state, and the other side, the more densely-developed southern half. The map includes a listing of the state’s top attractions, and notes al major touristic attractions. Although gas/petrol stations are commonly found, we have included some gas symbols in remoter parts of Queensland to encourage drivers to venture into roads less travelled. Als overzichtskaart goed te gebruiken   We're introducing a map of the US Southwest States, notably most of California and Nevada, Arizona, most of Utah, and the western third of New Mexico and Colorado. Our regional series is at 1:1M scale. This results in instances where the name of the map may differ from the common perception. In US parlance, the 'Southwest' is often thought to be Arizona and New Mexico, whereas in reality it is southern California, Nevada, and Arizona. If one includes New Mexico, the square sheet of paper has to go so far north that one ends up including Denver. This is our compromise and we'll figure out how to deal with Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Oklahoma a bit further down the line. The area of coverage is from Everett (just north of Seattle) in the USA to north of Pemberton, and from Victoria in the west to Chilliwack in the east on the one side, and a detailed 1:50,000 topo map of the Richmond/New Westminster/Surrey/Langley outer urban areas of Metro Vancouver. Most visitors to the UK fly into one of London's four airports and combine a visit to the city with an opportunity to travel to various destinations within striking distance of London. England is so incredibly rich in heritage and scenic attractions that it is extremely difficult to portray the country as a map of the entire entity. As a result, England lends itself nicely to be divided into a central/northern portion and a southern portion. To fit areas as diverse as Cornwall and Norwich on one sheet, one needs to have a vertical frame, with Devon/Cornwall up to the top of Wales on one side and Wiltshire to Kent up to York (admittedly, not normally considered to be part of 'southern', but vertically, that's what happens. This is actually our second attempt at mapping the western portion of Canada; the first covered everything from northwestern Ontario to the Pacific Ocean and, while it was an excellent map, the scale that such a huge area covered necessitated severe problems. In this version, all of British Columbia, Alberta, and the Yukon have been mapped from fresh digital data and presented at 1:1.4T scale. This would have been impossible when we prepared the first map. The Northwest Territories portion had to be compressed in two ways; first, the scale is 1:2M; second, only the portion with roads is shown. This is still an extremely large area. One has to consider the actual size of Canada when designing a map. Most countries in Europe would fit into this area, which only covers 20% of Canada.     Een degelijke kaart met aanduidingen van o.a. nationale parken, vliegveld, benzinepompen. The northern mountain states of the USA are now the most recent portion of ITMB’s re-mapping of the USA for travel. We had to include a small portion of Washington State and Oregon, due to the shape of Idaho, but the double-sided sheet covers the three states with very little room left over. Side 1 stretches from the Alberta border to Salt Lake City, in Utah, and from west of Spokane to Helena, MT. The 2nd side covers from the Canadian border south to Cheyanne, and is essentially a map of Montana and Wyoming. As such, this is the most detailed map of this region of the USA ever published, and pretty much completes our mapping of the western half of the continental USA. We have also added a new feature – a list of the most popular sites – for those with limited time, showing such well-known features as Glacier National Park and the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. We would be happy to expand this list, which highlights the top attractions with a red box.  Legend Includes: Roads by classification, Railways, Attractions, Hotels, Point of interest, Airports, Tourist information, Hospitals, Shopping centre, and much more.
