Double-sided, waterproof and tear-resistant map, extending east to just beyond 25°(the border of Libya and Egypt) , and roughly to 15° degrees (Bamako and Niamey) on its western half, and slightly further south on the other side (beyond Kano and Ndjamena). Elevation colouring indicates the topography, with landscape feature such as calderas, scarps and cliffs, lava fields, dunes, serir, marches, seasonal rivers, and salt pans. Oases and numerous wells/waterholes are also marked, most of them with names. International boundaries are shown with, where appropriate, border crossings. Road network includes rough tracks, and indicates location of petrol stations. Railways within the coastal areas of the covered countries are marked, and the map also shows small local airfields. Als overzichtskaart goed te gebruiken. Ontario and Quebec form the portion of Canada known as Central Canada. Ontario is the industrial heartland of the country, and the southern portion is the most densely-populated and urbanized part of Canada. Toronto is a city of 2.8M people and the heartland of an economic region serving 100,000,000 people in two countries. Southern Ontario is also home for six million residents, some of the most historic sites in the country, and major recreational land masses (Algonquin Park, Bruce Trail, Muskoka/Haliburton). Northern Ontario, on the other side of the map, occupies the bulk of the land area of the province, and is dominated by the Canadian Shield (a pre-Cambrian rock formation that is the oldest land on earth, rich in mineral wealth). As technology improves, we are able to produce more detailed maps than was previously possible. Such is the case with Ireland, a part of the world consisting of two countries divided by religion and history. Preparing a map of Ireland as a double-sided map means cutting the island into two geographic portions. Side 1 covers the northern half. This includes the portion known as Northern Ireland, or Ulster, and a fair portion of the Republic of Ireland, or Eire; essentially everything north of Dublin and west to Counties Mayo and Galway. Side 2 covers the southern half of the island from just north of Dublin to the outer tips of County Kerry. It also includes a nice inset map of central Dublin. Naturally, all motorways and roads are included, as are touristic attractions, camping/caravan sites, ferry terminals, and Top Attractions. This is a very detailed travel map of the island, printed on waterproof paper for durability. We had great fun driving around Ireland researching this map. I…

ITMB, after only thirty years on the go, finally gets around to publishing a map of Canada. When we first started mapping, there was a pressing need for good maps of Central and South America, then of Africa, then etc etc and we never found time to concentrate on our own country until fairly recently. This map was prepared by Natural Resources Canada and is, as a result, as accurate a map as one could hope to have. We are very proud of it, and very pleased to be able to use such top-rate cartography. The map covers all of the land mass of Canada, from its southernmost point to the top of Ellesmere Island and from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific. It’s an excellent map, but I’m going to give one proviso. Canada is the second-largest country on the face of the planet and there is no way that a single-sided sheet can portray…

Vaak is op de kaart nog een kleine plattegrond van het centrum van de belangrijkste stad te vinden. Colombia is growing in popularity as a travel destination. It is also changing quickly as peace and stability return to a lovely country. We have updated the map to the best of our ability and now have detailed inset maps of Bogota, Medellin, and Cartagena. The border to Ecuador is now an improved crossing. Een degelijke kaart van Laos met aanduidingen van o.a. nationale parken, vliegveld, benzinepomp, dirt-roads en kleine plattegronden van Vientiane, Luang Prabang we're very pleased to introduce you to this new, double-sided, map at a great scale, with fantastic detail. To me, the north side is the most interesting, covering the portion of Laos from Vientiane, the capital, to the Chinese border. Detailed inset maps of Vientiane and Louang Prabang, the temple city, are included on this side, as are bits of both Thailand and Vietnam. The south portion fills the other side of the sheet, including a goodly portion of Vietnam, showing all border crossings. Much of Thailand has had to be obscured, unfortunately, to make room for the place names index, but the immediate border areas are shown, including the rail line south from Vientiane. In an interesting departure from previous ITMB maps, the back cover consists of a detailed inset map of Vientiane at 1:16,000 scale, making it easy to use in…

This is a completely new map, using original ITMB artwork (the previous edition was licenced from a British firm). It is a double-sided (east half/west half) map with good inset maps of Kathmandu and of its surrounding valley, excellent hypsometry, and as detailed a rendering of the roads as has been possible. The civil unrest that beset this lovely country is now a thing of the past, and Nepal is enjoying a well-deserved touristic boom.
