Met name de natuurkundige apecten van het land of streek worden heel duidelijk weergegeven.  One of the world’s great travel adventures is sailing through the Panama Canal, which we did last year (see cover photo). Panama itself is a large enough country that the canal, which is visited annually by millions of passengers, cannot be shown in meaningful detail. So, whether one is on board one of the many cruise ships squeezing into the Miraflores Locks or are a visitor ashore watching, the canal is a great attraction. The map is double-sided, with central Panama (the part most visited) filling side one. Side two is divided in half along the central fold. Ontario is the industrial heartland of the country, and the southern portion is the most densely-populated and urbanized part of Canada. Toronto is a city of 2.8M people and the heartland of an economic region serving 100,000,000 people in two countries. Southern Ontario is also home for six million residents, some of the most historic sites in the country, and major recreational land masses (Algonquin Park, Bruce Trail, Muskoka/Haliburton). Northern Ontario, on the other side of the map, occupies the bulk of the land area of the province, and is dominated by the Canadian Shield (a pre-Cambrian rock formation that is the oldest land on earth, rich in mineral wealth). La Belle Province is historically rich, linguistically unique in North America, and attractive for tourism. It is a very large area of land, forcing us to portray the northern portion at a different scale than the more populated southern portion. The map extends to Ottawa in the west and includes most of New Brunswick in the east, as well as all the border areas with the USA to the south. Due to the size of Quebec, the focus of this map is concentrated on providing road information to get around, parks and geographic features, and symbols portraying ski resort areas, urban areas, and road numbers. We complete our series of regional maps covering Australia with this map of Queensland, which nicely fills a double-sided sheet with only small portions of adjoining states showing. The map also includes a large inset map of central Brisbane. At this scale, the road/rail network of this part of Australia becomes very clear. The first side concentrates on the northern portion of the state, and the other side, the more densely-developed southern half. The map includes a listing of the state’s top attractions, and notes al major touristic attractions. Although gas/petrol stations are commonly found, we have included some gas symbols in remoter parts of Queensland to encourage drivers to venture into roads less travelled. Wegenkaart Alberta   Alberta is many different things - a dynamic powerhouse of the Canadian economy, the source of oil in vast quantities, cow country, the Calgary Stampede, the Rockies. Alberta is a real gem in the crown of Canada, and is one of the most popular touristic destinations in North America. This double-sided map shows everything from Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump to the dinosaur pits of the badlands around Drumheller, to the foothills resorts close to the national parks of Banff and Jasper, and the gigantic parks themselves. The Province of Alberta is huge in area and exuberant as only a confident entity can be. This is Canada in its glory! A great place to visit, and a great map to explore it with. Wegenkaart met tevens aanduidingen van Nationale Parken en reservaten. Stadsplattegrond van Caracas 1:25.000 en kaart 1:500.000 van omgeving Caracas. This is another one of our brand new maps. The artwork has been digitally-prepared, and this time printed double-sided to achieve a MUCH better scale. We have included a regional inset map of the Caracas area, and insets of the Roraima Mountains region, but the size of Venezuela is such that the rest of the paper consists solely of the country itself. The southern portion remains relatively unexplored and undeveloped, with few roads and only the occasional settlement, and the northern coastal region shows the road network very well. This is the first new map of Venezuela in many years. Een degelijke kaart van Laos met aanduidingen van o.a. nationale parken, vliegveld, benzinepomp, dirt-roads en kleine plattegronden van Vientiane, Luang Prabang we're very pleased to introduce you to this new, double-sided, map at a great scale, with fantastic detail. To me, the north side is the most interesting, covering the portion of Laos from Vientiane, the capital, to the Chinese border. Detailed inset maps of Vientiane and Louang Prabang, the temple city, are included on this side, as are bits of both Thailand and Vietnam. The south portion fills the other side of the sheet, including a goodly portion of Vietnam, showing all border crossings. Much of Thailand has had to be obscured, unfortunately, to make room for the place names index, but the immediate border areas are shown, including the rail line south from Vientiane. In an interesting departure from previous ITMB maps, the back cover consists of a detailed inset map of Vientiane at 1:16,000 scale, making it easy to use in…
