    Georgia, the country and not the American state, is a very nice, but threatened country of great historical importance. Bordered on the west by the Black Sea, on the north by Russia, and on the east by Azerbaijan, and with an ill-defined border with Turkey on the west, Georgians must be nimble to retain their independence. Als overzichtskaart goed te gebruiken   We're introducing a map of the US Southwest States, notably most of California and Nevada, Arizona, most of Utah, and the western third of New Mexico and Colorado. Our regional series is at 1:1M scale. This results in instances where the name of the map may differ from the common perception. In US parlance, the 'Southwest' is often thought to be Arizona and New Mexico, whereas in reality it is southern California, Nevada, and Arizona. If one includes New Mexico, the square sheet of paper has to go so far north that one ends up including Denver. This is our compromise and we'll figure out how to deal with Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Oklahoma a bit further down the line. The second side covers the rest of the state, plus all of New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and most of Ohio, West Virginia and the northern portion of Virginia. In terms of cities, Cincinnati is at the bottom left of the sheet and Richmond at the bottom right, with Detroit at upper left and Albany at upper right. This is quite a comprehensive city plan map for the Honolulu urban area, stretching from east of Diamond Head to the international airport. It also includes a large inset of the Pearl Harbour area, with its many memorials to the ships sunk during the surprise Japanese attack on December 6, 1941. This is a brand new title for ITMB. Denver, the ‘mile-high’ city on the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains, is a vibrant, fairly modern city. It is the state capital, and the gold-coated dome of the legislative building highlights the wealth and strength of the state. The Denver Zoo is becoming one of the great attractions of the city, as are the Center for Performing Arts and the Museum of Science and Nature. Larimer Square is the focal point for entertainment, and Coors Field for sports. Our map shows a wide-ranging number of accommodations and eateries, and notes all points of interest. The State of Colorado map fills the reverse side of the sheet and, due to the positioning of the state’s boundaries, nicely fills the 40x28 sheet size of the map. It is, of course, the southern extension of the Canadian Rockies map through Blue Sky Montana and Mile High Denver. This is a double-sided map concentrating on roads and road quality, parks, touristic attractions, and urban areas. We feel that the state-by-state approach to mapping the USA just does not work well. With todays infrastructure and vehicular capability, one can pass through three or four states in a normal day drive.  Legend Includes: Roads by classification, US Divided Highway, Mountain peak, State park, National park, Ferry Route, Historic Route 66, Hot Spring, Museum, Skiing, Beach, Cave and much more.

    This is a new title for ITMB, in that it is the first time we have mapped the State of Washington. The actual area of the map includes Portland and northern Oregon and Vancouver and the border area with the USA. A small portion of Idaho is also shown. Wilderness campsites, parks such as Rainier, Olympic, and Baker, are shown. Seattle as a city, stretches far beyond the confines of a practical map in that it stretches from Everett to Tacoma. Our map covers from the University in the north to the Beacon Hill neighbourhood in the south and from the waterfront to Lake Washington. An inset map of the greater region is included. The rapid transit line is also included on the map and on the back cover. The first version of this part of Europe was licensed artwork by a local firm in Jersey, and upon running out of copies of the printed map, we opted to prepare fresh artwork of our own to continue this interesting corner of the continent to continue to be available. The islands, collectively known in English as the Channel Islands, are one of those anomalies that make Europe so attractive. This is a double-sided map, with a very good map of the State of Arizona on one side and an excellent exploratory map of the Grand Canyon on the other. The map can be marketed equally well as a State map or as a recreational/touristic map. Needless to say, the deep canyons carved by the Colorado River over millennia have created one of the great natural wonders of the world. This is a ‘must-see-before-I-die’ travel experience, visited by millions of people each year. Our map shows access areas, viewpoints, trails leading down to the valley floor, and the man-made attractions common to a major touristic site. The other side covers all of Arizona, with bits of Nevada, Utah, California, and Mexico and shows wilderness campgrounds, parks, attractions, and a large inset map of Flagstaff for those driving Route 66.  The state has Tucson, Phoenix, Sedona, and lots of desert. The main attractions are highlighted.
