The mountainous northern portion of Italy is one of today’s touristic highlights. This is a new title for ITMB and one that required considerable research to accomplish. It not only shows the roads and rail lines in the region, but hotels, castles/fortresses, museums, and a significant number of footpaths. This is the first new map of this important region, covering from Trento in the south to Sterzing-Vipiteno in the north. It also has a Top Attractions list to assist users. The reverse side is a more general map of northeastern Italy from the Slovenian border west to Brescia and from the Swiss border south to Siena, for the assistance of end users. This side has its own Top Attractions list and an outline of the area covered in better detail that is on the other side of the sheet.

United States of America (USA) Travel Reference Map has been mapped before, but the USA is a huge country, extremely developed, and almost impossible to show on a map without over-simplification. Most commercial maps use small sheets of paper and print single-sided, making it impossible to show this vast country to advantage. Well, Lan’s been hard at work developing a ‘proper’ traveller’s aid to navigating around the USA, and here it is. We printed it on an exceptionally large sheet of paper, 39” tall by 54” wide (our normal printing size is 27”x39”). To do this, we merged our four existing databases into one, then split them so that the west side is on one side and the east side on the other. This is the latest American regional map that ITMB has published. This one covers Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and parts of Idaho, New Mexico, and Arizona. It is, of course, the southern extension of the Canadian Rockies map through Blue Sky Montana and Mile High Denver. This is a double-sided map concentrating on roads and road quality, parks, touristic attractions, and urban areas. We feel that the state-by-state approach to mapping the USA just does not work well. With todays infrastructure and vehicular capability, one can pass through three or four states in a normal day drive.  Legend Includes: Roads by classification, US Divided Highway, Mountain peak, State park, National park, Ferry Route, Historic Route 66, Hot Spring, Museum, Skiing, Beach, Cave and much more.

Als overzichtskaart goed te gebruiken   We're introducing a map of the US Southwest States, notably most of California and Nevada, Arizona, most of Utah, and the western third of New Mexico and Colorado. Our regional series is at 1:1M scale. This results in instances where the name of the map may differ from the common perception. In US parlance, the 'Southwest' is often thought to be Arizona and New Mexico, whereas in reality it is southern California, Nevada, and Arizona. If one includes New Mexico, the square sheet of paper has to go so far north that one ends up including Denver. This is our compromise and we'll figure out how to deal with Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Oklahoma a bit further down the line. Florida has been unavailable for far too long! We wanted to improve the area of coverage while converting the artwork to a GIS-based digital data base, so the area of coverage now includes Georgia, Alabama, part of Mississippi, and most of the Carolinas. This would be an excellent map to use on the way south (or north) along I-95 or I-85 through Atlanta or Augusta and south to the Gulf Coast. The Panhandle of Florida is on the same side of the sheet, with the second side being devoted to Florida south to the Keys. There isn't enough space to show many insets; just the Orlando area and a Florida map showing population by counties. Another innovation we have introduced is to print the map on waterproof paper, for durability as well as for use as an umbrella during sudden downpours! We call the map the Atlantic States guardedly for obvious reasons. First, the northeastern Atlantic States are missing and second, Florida's Caribbean coastline is included. Also, to cover an area so long, we had to go further inland than 'just' the coast, so all of Pennsylvania and West Virginia are included. The area of coverage of side A is Philadelphia/Pittsburg south to Augusta and Charleston. Side B continues south to the southernmost portion of Florida and west to Panama City. Inset maps of Orlando and Miami are included on this side as well. Both road and rail connections are shown, and distances between communities shown. Door het kleine formaat (tweezijdig) handig bij het rondreizen. Geen register.
