These two countries have developed an incredible tourism industry and are very popular with visitors. They are larger than one expects; small in comparison to neighbouring Nigeria, but large as countries go. This map is brand new artwork at a much more attractive scale than the previous version; printed double-sided with much more information than was available to us when the original map was being developed. We’ve also added a few capsule comments about interesting facts related to the two countries, and large inset maps of Lome and Porto Novo. The peninsula is undergoing a lot of change at the moment, and no one knows the ultimate outcome. North Korea seems interested in opening itself somewhat to South Koreans, and even if steps to date seem like baby ones, tensions between north and south seem cordial at the moment. This is a new title for ITMB. The two Central Asian countries of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are rapidly developing a touristic market and we feel that the world needs a good map to reflect their growing importance. The two ‘stans were part of the Soviet empire that fell apart in 1990, creating a dozen new countries. This double-sided map covers Kyrgyzstan on one side, with an inset map of its capital, Bishkek. The main attractions are Osh and Suyab, both ancient market centres on the Silk Road, and Lake Issyk-Kul, the world’s second largest alpine lake. The reverse side concentrates on Tajikistan mountainous country just west of the Himalayas, with an inset of its capital, Dushanbe. Both of these countries should be considered ‘adventure’ destinations.

This is a double sided map with Netherlands & Belgium on 1 side. The Belgium portion occupies other shared with Luxembourg. The map has two covers, one side saying Belgium and Luxembourg, with a cover picture of a town square, and the other side says Netherlands and Belgium, with a cover picture of a windmill. The map's artwork is completely new and different from the previous edition, and much more in keeping with ITMB's style for Europe. Motorways are in blue, main roads in green, and other roads in red casing. Road distances between points are noted, as well as motorway rest areas, and touristic sites such as windmills, noteworthy churches, and camping areas. Sure, the government is too corrupt and the country gets schmucked every time there's a hurricane, but the people are friendly and hard-working and gradually improving their country. As a travel destination, Bangladesh has to be considered as part of a trip to India for most people, so in addition to updating and modernizing our artwork, we have added a map of the easternmost portion of India, showing access routes and sites of interest in both countries. One of the great treats of Bangladesh is to take a ferry from Dhaka to Khulna, a two-day trip. To me, the north side is the most interesting, covering the portion of Laos from Vientiane, the capital, to the Chinese border. Detailed inset maps of Vientiane and Louang Prabang, the temple city, are included on this side, as are bits of both Thailand and Vietnam. The south portion fills the other side of the sheet, including a goodly portion of Vietnam, showing all border crossings. Much of Thailand has had to be obscured, unfortunately, to make room for the place names index, but the immediate border areas are shown, including the rail line south from Vientiane. Turkey is a big country. Most visitors concentrate on Istanbul and the Izmir Coast, which is a shame as there are so many other interesting parts of the country to visit. This map covers the western third of the country as a double-sided map, covering from the Greek/Bulgarian border south to the Mediterranean and east to Eregli and Antalya in the east. Naturally, at a better scale, roads and road conditions can be shown to better advantage, and the ferry routes from Istanbul make more sense. The topography is now showing as contouring more easily, and we have been able to add the next layer of villages. The scale is still not appropriate for showing minor roads and tracks, but we have included as many as we feel we can. The map is printed on durable plastic paper, so will stand up to the rigours of travel quite well. A basin inset map of Istanbul has been included as well. The north is also very different from the south, so we decided to expand our data base for India and publish a map covering India from Hyderabad and Mumbai south to the southern tip of the country. As the country economically modernizes, it becomes better known. As a country, India is fascinating and a great travel experience. I well remember visiting the temple city of Tiruchirappalli many years ago and travelling by local trains (an experience that tends to sear itself on to ones memory cells!) Interesting-sounding names fill the map: Madurai, Kochi, Bangalore, Nagpur, and Pune; the map reeks of adventure and exoticism!

ITMB is gradually mapping the entire USA in appropriate scales. Most States fit fairly well into the 1:500 to 1:750T scale, and Utah is perfect for mapping. It is also a perfectly nice place to visit, so we are pleased to add it to our program. This map shares a sheet with Colorado, so please note that the ordering information is the same. Utah is Mormon country and the temple in Salt Lake City is a sight to see. The Great Salt Lake to its west is interesting to view, but more popular is the Bonneville Salt Flats at its western edge, where so many speed records have been won.
