Thus, it does not include the popular South East Asia and China coast routes. We think this has to change at a time when 25,000,000 people are travelling by cruise ships. Here are some details: Guam is a north-south island considerably north of New Guinea, and forms part of the American-held group of islands known as the Northern Marianas. Its capital is Hagatna, and the main town is called Tamuning. The island has a well-developed international airport in the middle portion of the island, with a large US military airbase in the northeast corner. The vast majority of the island is touristic, and well worth a visit. The island was "discovered" by Ferdinand Magellan in 1521, and Hagatna is the oldest "European" city in the Pacific, dating from 1686.     The Caribbean Sea is one of the most popular cruising destinations in the world. This colourful double-sided map starts just north of Orlando/Tampa in order to show the northernmost Bahamian islands and south as far as the Panama Canal at Colon and the coast of Venezuela. The map shows good detail for each island and the legal boundaries of each island nation. Side 1 concentrates on the western Caribbean, essentially the Bahamas, Cuba, Jamaica, and the Cayman Islands. Here’s a fun fact most of you won’t know: tiny Navassa Island between Haiti and Jamaica is claimed by both the USA and Haiti! This is a double-sided map, with Vancouver Island and the coastline as far north as Prince Rupert on one side (with inset maps of Seattle, Victoria, and Vancouver)on side 1, and the coastline north to Glacier Bay and an onward inset map to Anchorage (including an inset map of the city) on the second side.     ITMB is very pleased to be expanding our coverage of New Zealand with the release of this fourth title (the others being the country map, the South Island, and Auckland). At this expanded scale, it takes both sides of the sheet to show off the attractions of the northern half of NZ, but the shape of the island provides ample space for a large inset of Auckland and more modest ones of the city region and of New Zealand’s public transport network on side one. Side two has an excellent inset map of Wellington and includes the northernmost portion of South Island, with the ferry connection linking the two islands. At this scale, the place names and road network are very readable, and there is lots of room to show attractions and touristic points of interest. The map also includes our Top Attractions list of must-sees, such as Napier Rotorua, and the Hobbitown Movie Set of Lord of the Rings fame.

    The first edition was published in 2000 using artwork under licence. This edition uses original ITMB artwork. Side 1 covers Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island as well as Quebec s Magdalen Islands at a scale of 1:800,000. This side also includes the Top 10 Attractions of the three provinces. The second side is devoted to the Canadian Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, with the much smaller island portion being a half-page inset at 1:150,000 scale and the larger mainland portion being at 1:1,700,000. The northernmost tip of Quebec/Labrador belongs to Nunavut. St. Pierre et Miquelon, a French overseas possession just south of Newfoundland Island, is also included, as well as the map s only urban inset, historic St. John s, one of North America s oldest cities. We spent part of August, 2020, touring the island and geo-referencing its many highways. The island is bigger and more densely road-networked than we thought, so we'll have to complete the job on our next visit, but the roads are now much more precisely shown accurately than was possible before satellite imagery. The map looks great on an Ipad screen as well. The map also shows updated inset maps of San Juan, Ponce, Mayaguez, Aguadilla, and Arecibo. Puerto Rico is part of the United States, so has all the benefits, but is internally self-governing. With this edition we are including a map of the other US colonial territory, the US Virgin Islands. Aan de andere kant een overzicht van cruise routes in Oceanië, schaal 1:12.000.000 The South Pacific island complex known as New Caledonia, or Nouvelle Caledonie in French, consists of a main island and half a dozen smaller islands (collectively called the Loyalty Islands. It is an overseas possession of France and uses the Euro as its currency. It is located about halfway between Australia and Fiji and is south of Vanuatu. The main island is one of the larger land masses in the Pacific, with a reasonably well-developed road infrastructure linking the capital city of Naomea with other urban areas. There are resort hotels at various locations along the coastline, but this is a territory that one would have to regard as being adventuresome. Most of the attractions are concentrated in the vicinity of the capital. The islands were important surveillance zones during WW2, and the territory is popular with Australians and New Zealanders. The reverse side of the sheet portrays the South Pacific for cruising, covering from Hawaii to the Marianas, down to New Guinea, and includes the eastern half of Australia, all of New Zealand, American Samoa, Fiji, and Tonga in the centre, with Tuvalu, Kiribati, and the Marshall Islands to the north and the Cook Islands and Tahiti to the east. This is an increasingly popular part of the world for cruise ship activity, as it combines affluent population areas in Australasia and the USA with exotic, but safe, travel destinations that are expensive to reach by any means except cruise ships. This is a brand new title for ITMB and expands our coverage of both the southern portions of the Pacific with yet another first-time map.
