Double-sided, waterproof and tear-resistant map, extending east to just beyond 25°(the border of Libya and Egypt) , and roughly to 15° degrees (Bamako and Niamey) on its western half, and slightly further south on the other side (beyond Kano and Ndjamena). Elevation colouring indicates the topography, with landscape feature such as calderas, scarps and cliffs, lava fields, dunes, serir, marches, seasonal rivers, and salt pans. Oases and numerous wells/waterholes are also marked, most of them with names. International boundaries are shown with, where appropriate, border crossings. ITMB, after only thirty years on the go, finally gets around to publishing a map of Canada. When we first started mapping, there was a pressing need for good maps of Central and South America, then of Africa, then etc etc and we never found time to concentrate on our own country until fairly recently. This map was prepared by Natural Resources Canada and is, as a result, as accurate a map as one could hope to have. We are very proud of it, and very pleased to be able to use such top-rate cartography. The map covers all of the land mass of Canada, from its southernmost point to the top of Ellesmere Island and from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific. It’s an excellent map, but I’m going to give one proviso. Canada is the second-largest country on the face of the planet and there is no way that a single-sided sheet can portray…

The Bahamas is one of the most touristic Caribbean island countries, with huge resort complexes in Nassau and in Freeport. We visited Grand Bahama Island earlier this month and can attest to the friendliness of the people and the attractiveness of the island. This map shows all of the many islands that comprise The Bahamas. There isn’t a lot of contouring, as the country’s highest point is only 36 feet above sea level. An inset map expanding the island of New Providence, and separate inset maps of Nassau and of Freeport, are included. The map is double-sided, east half-west half, printed on waterproof paper for durability.

Tibet is fascinating and controversial. It has been occupied by China since Chairman Mao send hordes of Chinese troops into the country and annexed it to China, expanding its borders somewhat by over-running parts of northern India a bit later. We do our best to portray the country as it is, without getting overly involved in the political ramifications, which are pretty severe. At the moment, the Chinese authorities seem to be clamping down on tourism, due to simmering unrest. However, the country, or self-governing province of China is a beautiful place and deserves a good map. It is extremely difficult to get updating information on Tibet; we've done our best, but this is very much a work in progress. What can I say about Thailand that hasn t already been said? This is our eighth edition of this ever-popular title. It has a new ISBN, as we are gradually replacing our former prefix, but there is modest change on this map. The rail line into Vientiane, Laos, is now shown, and the inset map of Chiang Mai improved, as are insets for Bangkok and Pattaya. The transit map of Bangkok on the back cover has been updated to show the new MTR line. We have done our best to portray this wonderful country accurately, attractively, and beneficially for end users. This is a very good map.
