    FetHead Phantom is een ruisarme, hoogwaardige inline microfoonvoorversterker. Het biedt een verbeterd geluid voor condensatormicrofoons. De elektronica is ondergebracht in een robuust metalen chassis met een gebalanceerde 3-polige vrouwelijke XLR-ingang en een gebalanceerde 3-polige mannelijke XLR-uitgang, robuust genoeg voor gebruik thuis, in de studio of op tournee. FetHead Phantom is een FetHead-versie die speciaal is ontworpen voor condensatormicrofoons. Het werkt erg goed met alle condensatormicrofoons. FetHead Phantom is ook een onmisbare tool voor mobiele opnames en een echte upgrade voor camera microfoonvoorversterkers, omdat het de ruisvloer verlaagt. Het Phantom-circuit van FetHead gebruikt 48v fantoomvoeding, maar geeft deze ook door van de ingang naar de microfoon, zodat de condensatormicrofoon met dezelfde fantoomvoeding wordt gevoed.

    Microfoon preampsSommige preampszijn erg gevoelig voor Phantom power. De input transformer kan de Phantom Power van een andere bron niet aan. Dit kan erg slecht zijn voor de isolatie, welke kan doorbranden! Phantom blocker is een goede oplossing om de output van een apparaat dat verbonden is met de XLR input  van een mixing desk or preamp met Phantom power ingeschakeld te beschermen.  Important !Before connecting the device you wish to shield from Phantom power make sure Phantom blocker is attached, have Phantom power switched on and wait 5 seconds during which Phantom blockers internal bleeder resistors will cancel out voltage differences. Connecting in this order prevents the transfer of an initial AC voltage burst created by the Phantom power switching on.
