Deze hoogwaardige snarenset bestaat uit een fosforbronzen wikkeling rond een kern van nylon strengen (Nyloncore). Het resultaat is een 'smooth' en organische, contrabas-achtige klank. Tevens krijgen deze akoestische bassnaren hierdoor een lage snaarspanning en voelen ze dus een stuk soepeler aan dan traditionele roundwound akoestische basgitaarsnaren. De Thomastik AB344 Acoustic Bass leent zich voor zowel long scale akoestische basgitaren als solid body bassen met een piezo-element.
