Product Description Shimano CUES SL-U8000-I Mono 2x shifter for Linkglide - I-Spec II mounting, gear indicator and two release functions The Shimano SL-U8000-I from the CUES series is a 2x shifter for high-quality city and touring bikes with Linkglide drivetrain. It is suitable for both 9-speed and 10-speed as well as 11-speed gears and is attached to the clamp of an I-Spec II compatible brake lever on the left side of the handlebar. This version has a permanently installed visual gear indicator, which gives you more control over gear changes. As a Rapidfire-Plus mono model, SL-U8000-I scores with fast shifting processes and has only one lever with which you can shift both up and down. In addition, it is equipped with 2-Way Release Technology, i.e. you can operate the lever by pushing it with your thumb and pulling it with your index finger. Instant Release Technology for a delay-free release of the shift cable is also on board. The lever is easily accessible, ergonomically shaped and can be operated with little force, which is also helped by the double bearing. I-Spec II installation not only saves you space, it also allows you to adjust the vertical alignment of the shifter. The lever position can also be changed via an adjustment wheel, which allows you to adjust it to your individual hand size. The shift lever is mostly made of lightweight aluminium. A stainless steel shifter cable with a friction-reducing coating is included. In contrast to regular Rapidfire Plus models, only one lever is installed here, which is used for both upshifting and downshifting. This is practical and accommodates natural finger positions. You change the chainring comfortably while keeping a firm grip on the handlebars and concentrating on the ride. 2-Way Release With 2-Way Release, the shifter can be pressed and pulled to shift to the smaller sprocket or chainring. This allows you to adjust the shifting process to your personal preferences. Most Rapidfire Plus shifters are equipped with 2-Way Release. Instant Release With Instant Release, the spring and thus the cable are released immediately when the lever is actuated, which ensures an enormously fast shifting process. The delay caused by a two-step shifting process with click and release is eliminated, so that the gear change is considerably accelerated and improved. I-Spec II I-Spec II describes a variant of the connection between the brake lever and the shift lever on MTB or, more precisely, flatbar gears from Shimano. This type of mount makes for a tidy cockpit as it reduces the number of clamps needed. On some models it is also possible to adjust the shift lever both horizontally and vertically in relation to the brake lever. Then there is 12 mm of adjustment travel in the longitudinal direction and/or up to 15° of rotation - for optimum ergonomic adaptation to your riding style, seat position and anatomy.
