The sprocket carrier made of aluminium and the nine sprockets made of steel impress with perfect stiffness. Nevertheless, the cassette is so light that it does not become noticeable as annoying dead weight on long tours. Those who prefer shorter distances will also be able to benefit from the CS-M770, because Shimano has designed its XT series for the needs of different types of riders. The blasted chrome finish provides a certain shiny effect. Of course, this cassette also features the Hyperglide (HG) sprocket design, which helps to move the chain smoothly and optimally from one sprocket to the other.
