Product Description The Ultegra RD-R8000 rear derailleur by Shimano - Shadow profile protects against damage The Shimano Ultegra RD-R8000 11-speed rear derailleur now also uses the Shadow design, as was previously the case with Dura-Ace. This is an extremely flat profile which, combined with the more direct positioning, reduces the risk of damage and ensures clean, quiet shifting in all conditions. In addition, the direct mount compatibility results in a new mounting option. The Ultegra rear derailleur, which is mainly made of aluminium, is available in two versions: one with a short cage (SS type) for cassettes up to 11-30 and the second with a longer cage (GS type) for cassettes up to a gradation of 11-34. This means that you can cope well even on the steepest climbs. OT-RS900 For Dura-Ace, Ultegra, 105, GRX and other 11-speed or 12-speed road and gravel rear derailleurs, Shimano has developed the special OT-RS900 cable housing. It is less stiff than the conventional OT-SP41 housing and is therefore better suited to the tight curve where the cable is routed from the frame to the rear derailleur. Thanks to OT-RS900, problems with the barrel adjuster can be prevented and the rear wheel can be removed more easily. OT-RS900 is not intended for use on the shift/brake lever side.
