Seeburg Main Mechanism Shaft Tools

A common overlooked issue with Seeburg mechanisms is the sticking lift arm or detent shaft. This tool allows easy removal and cleaning without the need for major disassembly. One end is faced flat and the other end is knurled to indicate the hammer end. Its easiest to perform this with the mech on the bench, and is also a good opportunity to clean and lubricate the mech, and inside of cabinet. First remove mech covers, next position the carriage all the way to the right of the mechanism.Remove the tone arm assembly, place by the side to not pull on the wires.For machines equipped with Bodine or Nidec motors you do not have to remove the motor, for Westinghouse you will need to partially remove to give room for the shaft to drive straight.Next loosen the set screw BUT don't remove, this is located from the back of the mech near the clutch, follow the lift arm shaft.
