Weil gaat op zoek naar alternatieven en een andere manier van politiek bedrijven. Filosofe Alicja Gescinska pleitte in verschillende werken voor het belang van politieke betrokkenheid. In Politiek zonder partijen schetst ze een kort biografisch portret van Simone Weil en presenteert ze een nieuwe Nederlandse vertaling van Weils Aantekening over de algemene afschaffing van politieke partijen. In een afsluitend essay gaat Gescinska in filosofische dialoog met Weil.
