Langs procedures, blunders, verbazing, twijfels en de eer van het volksvertegenwoordigen. Naast praktische uitleg over allerlei zaken die je niet durft te vragen maar toch wilt weten, analyseert Vos ook als politicoloog politieke processen. Hoe komen besluiten om iets niet te besluiten tot stand? Hoe voelt fractiediscipline voor de gedisciplineerde? Waarom kan Wilders wel framen en kunnen PvdA-politici dat niet? Maar ook: waarom willen politici zo graag op tv verschijnen? Hoe word je onderwerp van een roddel? En red je het in Den Haag met alleen idealen en ideeën, of moet je macht nastreven? Iedereen met interesse in politiek zal dit boek met smaak lezen. Op aanstekelijke wijze verbindt Mei Li Vos politicologische theorie met de praktijk van de politiek. Mei Li Vos (1970) is politicoloog. Ze promoveerde op een onderzoek naar de ontwikkelingshulprelatie tussen Nederland en Indonesië. Ze richtte in 2005 een vakbond op voor werkenden die niet vertegenwoordigd werden in de polder. In 2006 publiceerde ze het boek Het arbeidersparadijs. Een jaar later zat ze voor de PvdA in de Tweede Kamer.
