Pelgrimsroute - Wandelgids London to Walsingham Camino | Trailblazer Guides
Pelgrimsroute - Wandelgids London to Walsingham Camino | Trailblazer Guides
Full colour, larger format Inspirational guide describing the 13 stages of the pilgrimage route from London to the shrines at Walsingham in Norfolk. The book follows a resurrected route which has now been given official recognition by the Confraternity of St James, better known for their organisation of the famous Camino de Santiago in Spain. That means any pilgrim who walks at least 25km of it, and gathers pilgrim stamps along the way, will be able to use that 25km towards the total of 100km that must be walked in order to get the official Passport/Credencial when they arrive at Santiago. In his foreword to this new guide, the Archbishop of York writes: "I have walked to Walsingham twice ... [and] ... I walked the Camino del Norte to Santiago. I am therefore delighted that the route from London to Walsingham is now better established and therefore more available for other pilgrims and also drawn into the network of pilgrimages under the umbrella of the Confraternity of Saint James. Pelgrimsroute - Wandelgids Camino Finisterre | Camino Guides Brierley
Camino Finisterre: Pilgrims who continue to the 'End of the Earth' Finis Terrae often refer to this as a highlight in their journeying. In the first edition it was described as the road less travelled but that acclaim has now passed to Muxía which has become the ideal extension for those seeking space for rest and reflection before returning home. The paths to Finisterre and Muxía are uniquely beautiful, full of the flavours of Galicia and her deliciously authentic culture. The spirit of St. James is alive in the deep river valleys and rolling hills that make up her Landscape Temple. Come and experience her untamed beauty and the purity of the light that has attracted spiritual seekers for countless millennia. The light, while obscured, lies hidden in our memory. It is no coincidence that the path to the end of the world ends at a lighthouse and the Ara Solis. This guidebook describes the only camino that departs from Santiago. However, in recent years it has been recognised for a Com…

Pelgrimsroute - Wandelgids Camino Inglés | Camino Guides Brierley
Pelgrimsroute - Wandelgids Camino Inglés | Camino Guides Brierley
Camino Inglés: This ancient route was popular with pilgrims arriving by sea from England, Ireland and Northern Europe in the medieval period. It all but faded from memory but is quietly coming back to life and now ready to welcome pilgrims seeking a more solitary way along the rugged rías of Northern Galicia. It was previously combined with the route to Finisterre which was described as the road less travelled but that acclaim has now passed to the English way (or Celtic way) that starts in Ferrol or A Coruña and now fully merits its own edition. Few pilgrims walking the Camino Inglés commence in A Coruña which, at less than 100 km, does not entitle the pilgrim to a compostela unless they have walked an extra 25 km in their own country or combine it with the route from Ferrol. This provides an opportunity to visit the only site in Galicia directly linked with the life of Jesus - his first miracle in Cana of Galilee. By combining two distinct starting points we also come to understand …

Productomschrijving

Labelled by the FFRandonnée under the name GR®653, the road to Arles was once used by pilgrims coming from Provence and Italy. Starting point: the charming city of Arles in the south of France. Arrival point : Puente la Reina in Spain where you will join the Camino Francés towards Compostela. The Miam Miam Dodo Voie d'Arles is the reference guide for walking independently on the Voie d'Arles also called Via Tolosana and on the Camino Aragonés.   The way of Arles is a magnificent itinerary offering about 800 km of a rich diversity of reliefs, landscapes and climates: plains, forests, hills, mountains, etc. This route was very popular in the time of the Occitan civilization, before the Cathars were persecuted. Because of the important differences in altitude, the pilgrim must be well prepared and have a good physical condition for this journey.   The "plus ": In addition to its particularly pleasant climate, the Via Tolosana is the only itinerary of the 4 traditional routes in France to have "two directions": towards Santiago de Compostela in one direction and towards Rome in the other.
