HTP Mebendazole 100 mg worm tablets
HTP Mebendazole 100 mg worm tablets belong to the group of medicines known as anthelmintics. Mebendazole is a substance that can kill worms. It is effective against infections caused by threadworms, roundworms, whipworms and hookworms.
Mebendazole kills worms, larvae and eggs.
In some cases (mainly severe infections with hookworms or whipworms) where complete cure is not achieved, there is nevertheless a reduction in egg excretion of at least 90%.
What this medicine is used for
For use in infections caused by threadworms, roundworms, whipworms and hookworms.
Do not use if
You are allergic to any of the substances in this medicine.
Take extra care if
Warning:
#Treat the entire household when more than one family member is infected.
#Consult a doctor before use if you are also using metronidazole.

Additional information
Consult your general practitioner:
In case of worms other than threadworms or roundworms.
Threadworms: thin, pale yellow/white moving worms measuring 0.5-1 cm in length. They often cause itching around the anus. In case of threadworms: if the worms have not disappeared two weeks after the second dose of mebendazole despite proper hygiene measures.
Roundworms: thick, round worm(s) measuring 10-30 cm in length and 3-6 mm in diameter. In case of roundworms: if the worms have not disappeared two weeks after a repeated treatment with mebendazole. Pregnant women and children with a worm infection other than threadworms, and when hygiene measures have not been effective.
Do not use if:
Intolerance to certain sugars. Not to be used in combination with other medicines. Consult a doctor if symptoms worsen or do not improve within 14 days.
Use in:
For use in infections caused by threadworms, roundworms, whipworms and hookworms.
Active ingredients
Each tablet contains 100 mg mebendazole
Excipients
LACTOSE monohydrate, potato starch, sodium starch glycolate, sodium saccharoid, povidone (E1202), talc, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide (E551), magnesium stearate (E470b), orange flavouring, sunset yellow FCF aluminium lake (E110)
Dosage
The dosage below applies to both children from 2 years of age and adults. No special diet or laxative needs to be prescribed. If the worm infection is accompanied by diarrhoea, the symptoms should be treated simultaneously.
Threadworm infections: 1 tablet and after 14 days another 1 tablet; if necessary, repeat every 14 days.
Infections with roundworms, whipworms and hookworms: 1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet in the evening for 3 consecutive days.
If complete cure has not been achieved after three weeks, the treatment should be repeated.

Directions for use
In case of threadworms, repeat treatment after 14 days; in infections with roundworms, whipworms and hookworms, apply the recommended dosage for 3 consecutive days.
