With the side studs of the legendary DHF, which have been widened slightly, it has extreme cornering grip. The centre lugs have bevelled cleats for better acceleration. Notches on the studs improve transition when turning in curves. Some of the centre lugs have a paddle shape, which makes them dig into the ground during hard braking and help to keep the bike under control. Note from the manufacturer: Maxxis strongly advises against the use of ammonia-based sealant. Ammonia has been proven to attack the carcass and can weaken it by up to 30% after only a few months, depending on the amount used.
