Land Art Live (Paperback)
For Dutch see below - English - Flevoland has a unique collection of Land Art, including De Groene Kathedraal by Marinus Boezem, Observatorium by Robert Morris and Riff, PD#18245 by Bob Gramsma. These Land Art works once stood in the empty polder, but are now part of a dynamic landscape transformation. Views on art and its social significance have also changed in the five decades this book covers. This raises questions about the preservation of the works and of the collection as a whole. Land Art Live | The Flevoland Collection sheds light on the Land Art in Flevoland. A younger generation of artists was asked to use performances to connect with the original meaning of the Land Art works. In addition, experts in the field of visual art, heritage and landscape provide ideas with which the future of this exceptional collection and the landscape can be shaped. Land Art Live can also be used as a guide when visiting this extraordinary open-air museum. - Dutch - In Flevoland bevindt zich

Eloquent Formalism (Paperback)
Eloquent Formalism (Paperback)
Eloquent Formalism celebrates the remarkable legacy of Jan and Lieve Andries-Vanlouwe and the contemporary art collection they passionately assembled. This beautifully curated publication offers an intimate look at a selection of important post-war and contemporary artworks, reflecting the couple's deep appreciation for art's capacity to transcend boundaries and inspire new ways of seeing.   With a focus on the purity of form, color, and texture, the book highlights works by notable artists such as Léon Spilliaert, Mark Rothko, Serge Poliakoff, and others who helped shape the European and American art scenes of the 20th century. In addition to the collection's profound artistic value, the book chronicles the Andries-Vanlouwe Foundation's mission of preserving this cultural treasure while making it accessible to the public.   Through essays, rich imagery, and thoughtful reflections, Eloquent Formalism not only showcases the visual power of the collection but also serves as a testament

The Dutch lowlands is an artificial landscape, created as a result of the wish to regulate the water that dominated the topography in the Delta. This 'confined' lowland water, the polder-boezem system12, features an enormously diverse range of water structures and forms, which largely dictates the spatial planning of the lower Netherlands. This dissertation concerns the polder-boezem system, a water system that was created by trial-anderror, has been adapted continually and now needs to be expanded to cope with the effects of climate change. The research focuses on answering the following question: What potential does the current polder-boezem system have, with the help of landscape architectonic design, to define (or redefine) the spatial identity of the lowlands?

David Bowie: live 1987 - 2007 (Paperback)
David Bowie: live 1987 - 2007 (Paperback)
During 50 years David Bowie played almost 1,900 concerts throughout the world. His earliest documented "concert" was at the 18th Bromley Wolf Club Boy Scouts Summer Camp in August, 1958. His final "performance" took place at the High Line Festival in 2007 in New York City, introducing Ricky Gervais with a short song. The two-part catalogue 'David Bowie Live 1958 - 1986' and 'David Bowie Live 1987 - 2007' take you to every one of these concerts. The focus of this book is on David Bowie's live recordings from 1987 up to 2008. Bowie-expert Wim Hendrikse wrote detailed descriptions of all of them, complete with set lists, official releases, bootlegs and thousands of other unauthorised recordings. This is an indispensable reference book for collectors. It also is a 'must' for those who are interested in the performer David Bowie. Also available the reference books: David Bowie - No shit, just facts part 1 & part 2. And the biography: David Bowie - A Star Fell to Earth. "Are they worth the

Transformation in Composition (Paperback)
Transformation in Composition (Paperback)
This study enlarges on the notion of composition in landscape architecture, building on the 'Delft Method', which elaborates composition as a methodological framework for landscape design. At the same time it takes a critical stance in respect to this method in response to recent developments in landscape architecture such as the site-specicity and process discourses. The notion of composition is examined from a historical, theoretical and lexical perspective, before turning to an examination of the brownfield park project realised in the period 1975-2015. These projects emerge as an important laboratory for developments in landscape architecture, whereby contextual, process, and formal-aesthetic aspects form central and inter-related themes. The thesis of this research is that a major theoretical and methodological expansion of the notion of composition can be distilled from the brownfield park project, in which seemingly irreconcilable paradigms such as site, process and form are

Schurend Paradijs / Abrasive Paradise (Paperback)
Schurend Paradijs / Abrasive Paradise (Paperback)
Published with an exhibition at Kunsthal KAdE in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, 'Abrasive Paradise' features 24 artists who examine the current state of our society. Modernism in the 20th century dreamed of achieving a vision of a makeable society, an “earthly paradise”. Now we are facing a world full of lurking dangers and hidden disasters due to climate change, the direct result of humans' invasive behaviour in the natural order. Through installations and paintings - including works by LOLA Landscape Architects, Philip Vermeulen, Simphiwe Ndzube, Hadassah Emmerich, Marcel Pinas, Marina Rheingantz, and Erwin Olaf - the exhibition lends a physical character to this experience.
