Sintered disc brake pads are designed to ensure the highest performance in extreme conditions, such as XC, DH, Trial and Slalom. These pads have a short break-in period before they reach their peak performance. Organic disc brake pads are manufactured with almost no metal content and are bonded with synthetic resin. The pads contain small amounts of metal particles, as these improve the braking properties. Nevertheless, the pads are mostly organic, you could also say they are semi-metallic. In the long run, organic disc brake pads have a high braking performance and are very gentle on the rotor. The organic disc brake pads from Kool Stop are also available with an aluminium bracket.
