Product Description The 240 DEG Super Boost rear hub from DT Swiss with 90-tooth ratchet - the angle makes all the difference The 240 DEG MTB rear hub, shown here in the version for Super Boost bikes, has the fastest freehub DT Swiss has ever developed. This allows you to accelerate even more directly on the trail when you come out of a bend and adjust your pedalling position more quickly when a technical climb awaits you. The 240 DEG works with two size-optimised 90-tooth ratchets, which have a sensationally low engagement angle of just 4 degrees. This also changes the backlash, i.e. the idle distance of the crank before the freehub engages is shorter. This results in faster acceleration and greater reliability. In general, the ratchet system has the advantage over a pawl freehubl that the contact surface is larger and therefore the load is distributed more evenly. The 240 DEG hub also scores points with its incredible sound and easy maintenance, for which no special tools are required. It has a Boost-specific width of 12 x 157 mm and is compatible with 6-bolt brake rotors. The no-tool concept contributes to this, because it allows disassembly without any tools. The freehub has two ratchets which engage simultaneously. This means that the contact surface is large and the point load is kept small, which relieves the material and allows the freehub to work particularly reliably and precisely. The ratchet system has 36-tooth discs as standard, but can also be fitted with more or fewer teeth. If it also bears the designation "SL" ("Superlight"), this means that the toothed discs are specially machined to save weight.
