    When the planet Krypton was about to explode, scientist Zor-El adjusted his daughter Kara's spacecraft to follow the ship of his cousin Kal-El. Kara was already a young girl, while Kal-El was just a newborn baby. During the journey through space, Kara remained in suspended animation within a large chunk of the planet, and upon reaching Earth, her asteroid broke apart, and her spacecraft crashed in Gotham City where it was found by Batman.
