Before you start with the thread cutting process, you should first clean the fork tube. Then place the cutting blade (guide) at right angles to the steerer tube on the thread of the fork. Make sure that you turn the tool exactly onto the existing thread and do not tilt it. This prevents damage to the existing thread. Please note that the fork thread cutting tool is only used for re-tapping an existing thread on the fork.
