The Firemist Gold colour was introduced in 1964 at GM/Cadillac under the name Firemist Saddle, later modified to Saddle Firemist in 1965. Fender renamed it Firemist Gold to make it more descriptive and it was used from 1965 onwards to replace Shoreline Gold. It was widely used by Fender on all their models since 1965.Colours for vintage-inspired guitarsAfter great work and exhaustive study by our laboratory and technical department, we have created colours for guitars to faithfully recreate the tones of vintage Fender and Gibson guitars to paint electric guitars. They have been based on original samples from the '50s and '60s. However, keep in mind that vintage guitar colours may have changed a lot over the years due to the aging of nitrocellulose lacquer and changes in the brands' own colours.
