    Enkele jaren geleden deden RGB tri-leds hun intrede. Een RGB tri-led is feitelijk een rode, een groene én een blauwe led in één. Nog nieuwer dan de RGB tri-leds zijn de zogeheten RGBW quad-leds, ook wel Q4 leds genoemd. Een RGBW quad-leds is, je raadt het vast al, een rode, een groene, een blauwe én een witte led in één.
