Humigel™ crystals are of critical importance for the successful use of our humidifiers. The ONLY reason for the use of the crystals is to reduce the risk of damage to your instrument from potential leaks. Humigel™ crystals are very hygroscopic and hold up to 400 times their weight in water. We add .3 cc's of crystals prior to packaging. This is such a small quantity that you can barely see them at the bottom of the humidifier. The best way to tell if they are present is to shake the humidifier and hear them rattle around. .3 cc's is the amount needed to turn the water into jelly. Unlike water, the jelly is semi-solid and will contain the water should the humidifier become damaged. With the crystals present, a damaged humidifier will become damp or have water spots but will not leak into you're instrument.More than .3 cc's of Humigel crystals will reduce the ability of the humidifier to function. When there are too many crystals, the water stays suspended in the crystals, and will not e…

Blue Ice Metallic was a very rare custom colour from Fender, used in the mid 60's mainly for Telecaster and Jazzmaster guitars and for some Stratocasters. It's an ice- blue color but with the years the tone changes to greenish due to the yellowing of the aging of the nitrocellulose. This effect can be reached by using an amber tinted clearcoat over this colour. This colour leaves no one indifferent because of its exclusivity.Colours for vintage-inspired guitarsAfter great work and exhaustive study by our laboratory and technical department, we have created colours for guitars to faithfully recreate the tones of vintage Fender and Gibson guitars to paint electric guitars. They have been based on original samples from the '50s and '60s. However, keep in mind that vintage guitar colours may have changed a lot over the years due to the aging of nitrocellulose lacquer and changes in the brands' own colours. Therefore two guitars finished in 1960 with Fender card colours can look different be…

The Gibson Les Paul Standard guitar began production in 1958, at a time in American culture when custom color choices from major manufacturers in the auto industry were becoming very fashionable. This Oxford Gray colour shows one of those car colours. Although it wasn't used in the '50s and '60s, it is currently used for the Gibson Custom Shop instruments. It's a bold and beautiful vision from Gibson, using historical car paints as an inspriation for their current instruments.Colours for vintage-inspired guitarsAfter great work and exhaustive study by our laboratory and technical department, we have created colours for guitars to faithfully recreate the tones of vintage Fender and Gibson guitars to paint electric guitars. The original name of this colour for cars was Teal. The suffix “Green” was added by Fender when they started using it as a custom colour option. It first appeared in 1962 on Ford/Lincoln cars as Riviera Turquoise Metallic, and on Ford Thunderbirds as Patrician Green. It is widely used on Stratocasters with white pickguards, for both maple and rosewood fingerboards.Colours for vintage-inspired guitarsAfter great work and exhaustive study by our laboratory and technical department, we have created colours for guitars to faithfully recreate the tones of vintage Fender and Gibson guitars to paint electric guitars. Desert Sand is a very light, very unsaturated reddish yellow colour similar to the colour of sand. It can also be defined as a deep shade of beige. Desert Sand was used by General Motors as a paint color for their first Cadillacs. Fender started using it in the late 50's, especially on their Musicmaster and Duo-Sonic models. It was also used on some lap steels of the time.Colours for vintage-inspired guitarsAfter great work and exhaustive study by our laboratory and technical department, we have created colours for guitars to faithfully recreate the tones of vintage Fender and Gibson guitars to paint electric guitars. The Firemist Gold colour was introduced in 1964 at GM/Cadillac under the name Firemist Saddle, later modified to Saddle Firemist in 1965. Fender renamed it Firemist Gold to make it more descriptive and it was used from 1965 onwards to replace Shoreline Gold. It was widely used by Fender on all their models since 1965.Colours for vintage-inspired guitarsAfter great work and exhaustive study by our laboratory and technical department, we have created colours for guitars to faithfully recreate the tones of vintage Fender and Gibson guitars to paint electric guitars. Charcoal Frost was used on Lincoln Continentals from 1965 to 1966, and also on the 1965 Ford Thunderbird. Fender adopted it as custom colour in their catalog in 1965. As it ages it tends to fade to gray-green. This particular aged look can be imitated by using an amber topcoat over this colour.Colours for vintage-inspired guitarsAfter great work and exhaustive study by our laboratory and technical department, we have created colours for guitars to faithfully recreate the tones of vintage Fender and Gibson guitars to paint electric guitars.
